K-Celebs Cast Their Votes: Early Voting Photos Go Viral Ahead of Presidential Election
Stars actively shared early voting certification photos on the first day of early voting for the 21st South Korean Presidential Election.
Yoon Jong-shin
Singer Yoon Jong-shin was the first to post a certification photo on May 29. That morning, he shared on his SNS, “Good morning, local voter. Starting the day with a firm vote,” along with a photo of a polling station sign at the Pyeongchang-dong Community Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
He encouraged participation, saying, “Early voting is only today and tomorrow (Thursday and Friday).”
Lee Seung-hwan & Choi Dong-seok
Singer Lee Seung-hwan also shared a certification photo holding a “Voting Completed” paper, confirming he cast his vote. He wrote, “I woke up earlier than usual today. My heart is racing with the determination to choose a capable leader who will build peace and boost the economy.” Known for his vocal political views, he wore a blue hat and shirt for the photo.
Broadcaster and former announcer Choi Dong-seok also posted a certification photo in a blue T-shirt, urging, “Vote!”

Conversely, rapper Beenzino sparked an unexpected political color controversy by posting a photo in red clothing from his brand, captioned “World Red Day.” The image, showing him happily holding his son at home, raised suspicions of supporting a specific party. Amid the controversy, he deleted the post.
aespa Karina
Notably, on May 29, aespa’s Karina faced significant backlash for posting a photo in a red outfit with the number “2,” prompting political color debates. Aware of such controversies, other celebrities opted for neutral, controversy-free certification photos on voting day.
Kim Go-eun
Actress Kim Go-eun posted only a photo of a polling station direction sign, while singer Kim Jung-min, dressed in all black, wrote, “Early voting completed. This is all I can do. Time keeps moving forward.”
Lee Chae-yeon
Singer Lee Chae-yeon humorously noted, “I couldn’t change the (blue) wristband, so I neutralized it with cherry tomatoes,” sharing a certification photo that amused fans.

Meanwhile, early voting for this election is being held on May 29 and 30 at 3,568 polling stations nationwide, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. During this period, eligible voters can cast their ballots at any early voting station across the country with a valid ID, regardless of their registered address.
